GAYE COLWELL
Gaye established Your Strengths Psychology in 2010 and has been working in the practice since this time. She is a registered Psychologist and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) Degree from Newcastle University with a Masters in Behavioural Science from Sydney University. Gaye’s special interest and passion is in the field of trauma, however she has extensive experience and has proven abilities with all areas of mental health particularly building resilience and self-confidence through emotional distress. Gaye is registered with Medicare and ATAPS and is an approved Work Cover Psychologist.
ANNE-LOUISE GAYLE
Ann-Louise's recent experience as a Senior Rehabilitation Consultant with a national occupational rehabilitation provider included all aspects of case management including vocational assessment and counselling, and assisting workers to return to work in accordance with Workcover legislation requirements. Prior to that Ann-Louise worked in drug and alcohol rehabilitation in community and residential settings, and has further experience working in inpatient mental heath treatment and facilitating group therapy. Ann-Louise's approach to therapeutic interventions includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic and Narrative Therapies. Areas of interest include personal counselling and development, anxiety and depression management strategies, addiction counselling, conflict and crisis resolution, and women's issues.
SUSAN PERES
Susan is a Registered Psychologist with experience working with young people and adults providing a broad range of assessments and interventions. Susan has a particular interest in men's issues, and working with forensic and at risk clients. She has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, personality disorders, parenting, career counselling, relationship issues and workers compensation. Susan uses evidence-based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Narrative Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.
PAMELA GOLDSWORTHY
Pamela is a passionate and skilled therapist, with more than 22 years experience working with children, adolescents, families and adults. Pamela has worked extensively across a wide range of areas, including Child and Family Health, Mental Health, Community Health, Hospitals, Rehabilitation, and Family Care Cottages, and has over 10 years experience in private practice. Her many areas of interest include anxiety, depression, men and women's health, perinatal and postnatal mental health, relationship issues and couple counselling, parenting, children, family therapy, carers, and grief and loss. Pamela utilises a broad range of therapies in her practice, paying attention to specific forms of mental health diagnoses, as well as addressing everyday problems and difficulties. Pamela is motivated in her practice to help you in finding your inner strengths to build a firm foundation for living your best life.
SHELLEY MORTON
Shelley is a registered Psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She has a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Newcastle.
Shelley is registered with Medicare and ATAPS and is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She has worked across a variety of settings including private practice, schools, disability and employment. Shelley uses a broad range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness techniques and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT).
She has experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem and self- identity. Shelley is a warm, bubbly and friendly clinician and her non-judgmental approach helps clients to feel comfortable to have those though conversations.
DELLEAN WITHERS
Dellean Withers is a registered psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the University of New England. Professionally, she has worked in recruitment, assessment, occupational rehabilitation, the public service and in private practice. Dellean has a special interest in hypnosis and strategic psychotherapy for which she has gained accreditation through the Australian Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy. She also utilises Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) and Solution Focused Therapy. She has completed training through the National Centre for Childhood Grief. Dellean is an accredited supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia. Dellean’s areas of strength include self development, goal setting, stress management, negotiating change, depression, anxiety, self-confidence, fears/phobias and bereavement.
JANE BREEN
Jane is a registered Psychologist who completed a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Psychology and has been working in the field for 9 years. She has a history of working in Private Practice and has experience in all areas of therapy. She enjoys working with both older teens and adults. Jane primarily works within the evidenced based, cognitive behavioural framework, treating a range of conditions including Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Stress disorders. She also has a passion for delivering group therapy programs such as assertiveness skills and anger. management.
SARAH STEPHENS
Sarah Stephens is a Social Worker with a demonstrated history in the Community Service Sector and a breadth of experience in assessing and treating people.
Sarah has a bachelor of Social Science and a Masters in Social Work from Charles Sturt University, and is a full member of the Australia Association of Social Workers.
Sarah’s areas of strengths as a therapist include counselling and NDIS capacity building. Sarah’s various Diplomas, Bachelor and Masters Education have enabled her to work at the interface between people and their environments, focusing on experiences of individuals, children and families, providing a broad range of assessments and interventions.
Sarah has over a decade of experience working with in government departments, private practice and other non-government agencies, with her recent role supporting people who have experienced domestic and family violence. She also has a passion for delivering group therapy programs and is a qualified community service trainer and assessor and Traffic Offender Intervention Program facilitator. Prior to that Sarah worked in drug and alcohol rehabilitation settings, and has further experience working in child protection.
